Catching up

It's been a while since I've blogged. Ashley and I have been BUSY cleaning our
the ranch house and bringing LOTS of it to Say road. I have always accused Buddy
of being a collector of stuff. I've changed my mind. He can hardly hold a
candle to me. I keep finding collections that I have forgotten about. It wasn't
necessarily a bona fide (spelling) colllection, but when you find 6 or 7 fruit
bowls, complete with artificial fruit, that is a collection.
Ashley and I make a good team because we're both sentimental and it may
be an old set of glasses to some, but to us it's a memory- or to me at least.
And if it's a memory to me, she's sentimental about it.
I'm feeling less at home on the ranch, and more and more at home in town.
For instance, we were completely out of milk!!! That couldn't have happened at
the ranch, because that meant at least 20 miles (out and back). Today I just
went a few blocks and got a gallon. Of course I paid twice as much for it as I
would have at Vons, but I didn't want to go to Vons.
Despite the sort of bad times we've been having -with Buddys surgery, his
shoulders and his Vertigo, we have been blessed in so many ways. We say "It's
a God thing" and accept what is to be.
It'll soon be time for Jeopardy and the Fox Channel, or an old movie. Boy
it's easy to get in a rut when you're older.

15 March To the Ranch with Jake - Jennie

Went to Church then off to Baja Fresh with the four of us to eat. Did that then off to Wheeler Canyon to show the kids how much we cleared out and taken to Say Road. 9 more pair of boots and still have 20 plus pair from back trailer.
Jennie and Genelle spent 1 hour going thru the house. Jake mounted th New Hollander 90 hors with new disc attached for discing weeds around the 4 tanks {water} up on the hill of 12000 gallons of water. First time Jake drove the New Hollander 90 HP and he was all smiles because of the smiliar handling as the 4900 Kubota. We're ahead of the game on moving in after their 10 days in the Carribean. The kid learns quick WOW WOW . Disc all around rhe 4 tanks and roads ud and down the mountain.
Left there and got Amy off from Say Road to the Rincon with motor home. Some of the Law School coming down for a little fun at the Rincon. Joe had all gased up for the stay at the beach.
Genelle and I watched "Imitations of Life" from the days we were at Pepperdine in 1958. Cried then and cried tonight. We have tons of movies close to 500 in Library. 10:15 PM and sleep get ready for tomorrow Steve operation.

Saturday Back To Ranch with Jeff and Cassie

What another wonderful day at the Ranch with Cassie and Jeff. Jeff is still cant hear out of one and she says it buzzes. She took him to a nose throat specialist. Well They got out to the Ranch and the three of us road the RTV around the ranch and checking out the horses and are ready for a fabulous Jeff couldn't get over PRETTY BOY (appy stud with two glass eyes). It's really funny the way a MAVRICK person is in the dark on Ranch life. I wouldn't take any thing for what I taught the grandkids about horses every since they were just babies. They all know about that from living every week end and ALL HOLIDAYS. They just wanted one thing . WHEN IS NANA GOING TO PICK US UP? What is taking so long?
Well they finally see her coming and they have their Ranch clothes They pile in and off to find Papa at the Ranch. They ride horses - golf cart - Go Carts until dark. Much of the time Jake and Nick headed for the duck pond to catch frogs and fish.
After that it was time for baths - dinner - and Nanas reading of a book with all seven of us in Nanas and Papas bed room for pop corn and a good lesson of Nanas reading topped off with a good movie from the Video films from a new one she bought from Coscos. Oh how the couldn;t wait for morning for two full days at the Rancg.

Ranch Cleanup for Jake and Jenny

To this day we are having fun getting the Ranch Move - in for our Grandkids newly wedds.
Everyone is as busy as a bee arrangeing things for those two. THEY WILL BE TRULLY BLESSED with the choices for them. We can hardly wait for another new day to arrive. So we can headout for the Ranch> Uvaldo and Tito are trimming trees and grass. All is simply wonderful.
My walking and moverability is wonderful. That new hip can turn in bed and slide close to my Ginny. She snores quite well and I just sleep on through. She says everyone should be so lucky to sleep with lights on and the O!Rielly Factor playing on TV. Well read them and weep baby.

Buddy Up date

Well today is Tuesday and I'm alive and well. Boy have I had a time with this surgery. Sick Sick and I do mean sick. To make things worst I broke my Bursa sack on my left shoulder and Dr. Swartout pulled me through with his brilliant mind and cortisone. I'm wearing a shoulder sling and it is working well - sleeping through the night and no drinks after Jeopardy. Back in bed with Genelle and body warm and sweet.
she still can't sleep like I do.
Genelle and Ashley worked at the Ranch moving things to Say Rd. They left the Ranch with a trip to Cosco for Food and back to Say Road and the three of us are eating dinner now.
All well with the horses and Midnight {dog} . I could never hope for a better bonding dog
If Genelle was only that loyal.

Papa's got a brand new hip.....

Hello to all;
It's Pam, and I writing in Buddy's blog to bring you up to date on "The Surgery". January 14th at 11:00 am, He went into surgery to replace his worn out hip. For the next few days(probably until,Sunday or Monday) He'll be in Bed 1 ,Community Memorial Hospital 5th floor. The surgery went well and Dr. Golden said there were no surprises. Buddy has asked for the old body parts. Doesn't surprise us.... He began physical therapy and He did well. He is determined to fight through the pain and get his cowboy boots as soon as possible.
Genelle is doing well too, Yesterday was a long day and she slept 9 hours at Joe and Nancy's last night. She is happy He is awake and seems that He is tolerating the pain. Tomorrow He'll probably get out of bed and stand, maybe take a few steps.
If you would like to talk to him feel free to call his cellphone( 805)415-9059 or send him an email. He won't be back to his computer until next week, but He'd love to hear from you. Thank You for your continued prayers for both He and Genelle.
